Collars for dogs: Stylish variety and convenient features

A collar is one of the first things you buy for your dog. Since collars can only grow to a limited extent, a pet will need several collars in the course of their life.

A collar provides security. You can attach your pet and as well as important dog identification accessories at the same time: Dog tag, luminous flashers , ID dog tags and other items are good to have here. Reflective elements on the collars provide additional visibility in the dark.

You can find collars made of nylon , leather , rope or PVC . We offer a variety of different shapes and colours.

What types of collars are available?

Semi-choke collars can help to reduce the dog's pulling while walking. If the dog pulls harder on the leash, the collar will tighten to the set pull-stop point. When the dog lets go, the collar widens again and becomes more comfortable for the dog. The pull-stop point or knot of the collar is adjustable: before use, the point must be set so that the pet cannot slip out of the collar and it is never too tight when pulled.

A puppy collar should be narrow and above all soft. Of course, it should not be too tight! The young dog should be able to get used to the new object on her neck in a relaxed way.

A greyhound collar is particularly wide in the throat area and gets narrower at the back in the lead. The wide area protects the throat area of dogs with their wide, long neck and is therefore a good choice. The robust collars are also suitable for other dog breeds.

Collars with click fastener and buckle: The majority of collars have a simple click fastener or a buckle. The advantage of click fastener collars is that they are usually highly adjustable and can grow with the dog. Opening and closing is quick and easy. Most collars with a buckle have a D-ring position next to the buckle that is gentle on the larynx, so that the buckle cannot press on the dog's larynx.

How should a collar fit?

When choosing the right size, the following rule of thumb should be followed: As wide as possible, but as tight as necessary. The dog should not be able to slip out of the collar and at the same time not be constricted. Our size chart will give you an idea of what size might be suitable for your dog. Since every pet is different, the collar must be individually selected and adjusted.
